How to open SketchUp SKP files on iPhone
Bring a SketchUp model to your iPhone for a client conversation or a closer look on site. Core 3D Viewer converts your SKP file online, then saves the converted model in your library for viewing

Save your SKP file
Save the .skp file in Files on your iPhone. The online converter accepts files up to 50 MB, so check the file size before importing
Import while connected to the internet
Open Library in Core 3D Viewer, tap +, and select the SKP file. It uploads to our server for conversion, then the converted model returns to your device
Review the converted model
Rotate and zoom to check the model after conversion. With Pro, add dimensions and use Isolate to create focused views of the details you want to explain
Present it on your phone or send a link
Tap AR to view a copy in your space, or open Share and create a link for your client. The browser presentation includes the dimensions and saved views you added; the AR view shows the model without dimensions
Before you start
SKP conversion uses a server
Your source SKP file is uploaded temporarily, converted to GLB and returned to your iPhone. The server deletes the temporary conversion files after processing
Conversion and sharing are separate
Importing an SKP file does not create a public share link. Creating a link later uploads a separate model package that anyone with that link can view
A browser presentation example
The bathroom demo shows the interactive model, dimensions and saved views a client can explore. It is a general viewer example, not a record of converting an SKP file
Questions, answered
About SketchUp on iPhone
Can I import an SKP file offline?
No. SKP import requires an internet connection for server conversion. Once the converted model is saved in your library, you can view that local copy offline
What is the SKP file-size limit?
The converter accepts a source SKP file up to 50 MB. Share links have separate package limits: 25 MB on Free and 100 MB on Pro. The shared package can be a different size from the original SKP file
Do I need Pro to open a SketchUp model?
Importing and viewing are free. Pro is needed to create dimensions and manage isolated saved views on your own models. You can try these tools on the app's included demo models without buying Pro
Can I edit the original SketchUp design?
Core 3D Viewer opens a converted model for viewing and presentation. It is not a SketchUp modelling editor and does not edit the original SKP design
